Climate and Clothing
The climate is moist and humid but the air is invigorating and free of pollution. Winter season here is perhaps the most pleasant and very less humidity with temperatures dropping at nights. Monsoon lasts from June to September. Rains here are usually plentiful and regular. From march, the temperature starts rising but rarely crosses 35°c. May is the hottest month. Light and breezy cottons at summers and light woollens during winter nights are recommended.
Shopping and Food
You can put your feet in the soft sand of kihim beach and enjoy fresh coconut water (locally called as shahale). Also, ice apple (locally called as Tadgola) is a must try once you are in kihim. There are many varieties of fresh sea fishes and some varieties of dried fishes which are bought by many tourists at a local fish market where fishermen’s boats land. Flattened rice or jaada poha, a more nutritional form of regular poha which is raata poha(red rice poha) are a must to take back home. Here, you can get many different types of papad, from poha papad, poha mirgund to papad for fasting like batata papad at nearby shops. A type of legume which is famous here called as kadve vaal, dried form of kokum or aamsul, local tamarind (called as chinch gole here) are also to take back home. We promote Konkani vegetarian food along with sea food like Kolpohe, Paanagi, Popati, Dadpe Pohe and many more.

On one side, kihim beach is a very suthing and calming experience but at the same time, on the other side, there is so much fun and excitement-filled experience with water sports at kihim beach. Watersports at kihim beach are comparatively new as compared to other beach near alibag and that’s why all the new rides are available.
